Very rare and beautiful vintage Vacheron Constantin Jumbo 222 with the reference 44018 in steel & yellow gold. Together with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 5402, IWC Ingenieur SL 1832 and the Patek Philippe Nautilus 3700, the VC 222 is one of the "big four" from the 1970s. But why does the Vacheron stand out among these 3 other icons? Unlike the other three watches, it was not designed by Gerald Genta, but by Jörg Hysek. Also, unlike the Nautilus and Royal Oak, it was only produced in very small numbers. The 3700 and 5402 were produced several thousand times, while there are less than 1000 watches of all variants of the 222. This makes them very rare and it will be very difficult to find a good 222! The diameter is 37 mm without crown with the VC automatic calibre 1121, based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 920. This watch was produced around 1981 and has the original folding clasp, it is also in good original condition.
