Very rare vintage Piaget Jumbo Polo with the reference 7661 C 701 in 18k yellow gold. This reference is one of the first five references in the Piaget Polo series, the reference 7661 being the largest Polo with a round case. It is also the rarest reference of the five, it is quite rare to find a 7661 in good condition! This Polo is powered by the Piaget Quartz calibre 7P, which at the time held the world record for the thinnest quartz calibre.
With a diameter of 34 mm, this Polo also has the perfect unisex size and can be worn perfectly by both men and women. The weight is also extremely impressive at 142.1 gr. and with a total length of the bracelet with watch of 18.5 cm (without the two dismantled elements + gadroons). In addition to the gold hallmark on the back of the watch, there is also a gold hallmark on the case flank at 9 o'clock. Here you can also see the perfect condition of this Piaget Polo and that this watch has never been polished.
Of the approximately 4,000 to 6,000 examples of the round and square Polo, there are unfortunately not nearly as many to be found in the world today. For a long time, the Piaget Polo was considered a watch that only had material value and it was easier to simply melt it down due to the high material value. In recent years, however, the Polo has become very popular again in the world of watches and is slowly regaining its old image from the 1980s.
Finding a Polo 7661 on the market is not exactly easy, especially if you keep an eye on the condition, so a watch like this one is all the more beautiful. This Piaget is in almost perfect, unpolished original condition from the first owner and has only rarely been worn.
