Piaget very rare TV Screen 12434 perfect Lapis Lazuli dial Yellowgold

€ 7,710.00

A beautiful vintage Piaget Dress Watch TV Screen ‘Borke’ with the reference 12434 in 18k yellow gold, with a perfect and breathtaking lapis lazuli dial. At the time, the Piaget automatic calibre 12P with micro-rotor was the thinnest automatic movement in the world at only 2.3 mm, and it still runs very well today.

If you take a look at some of the latest watches on our website, you will find quite a few Piaget watches from the 1970s with stunning stone dials, especially lapis lazuli dials. These usually have something magical about them that makes it impossible to take your eyes off the lapis. This particular stone is an absolute gem; there are very few lapis lazuli dials that radiate such beauty. It has fine traces of gold dust scattered across the entire dial and captivating pyrite inclusions, also known as ‘fool's gold’.

Let's move on to the classic TV screen design of the watch. Various versions of this beautiful series were produced, and the first four digits of the reference number ‘1243’ indicate that this is the version with the ‘bark’ style case top/outer bezel. Combined with the classic TV case and lapis lazuli dial, this is an elegant and stylish vintage dress watch!

The watch currently features a brown leather strap with the original Piaget buckle in 18k yellow gold. On the case back, there are a total of four gold hallmarks, which indicate that the watch has only been minimally polished over the past 50 years. The current condition of this watch is very good, with normal signs of wear for its age, but without any major dents or flaws. The dimensions of the watch are 32 × 30 mm (without crown), and the total weight is approximately 42.1 grams. If you are looking for a very special vintage watch, this Piaget is definitely the right choice with its timeless design and unique lapis lazuli dial!
